Poker Bet Take a deck of playing cards (52 cards - no jokers). Bet someone that you can remove just eight cards from the deck, and they won't be able to make a five card poker straight with the remaining 44 cards. If they take the bet, remove all fives and tens from the deck. Hand them the deck, and tell them to make a five card straight. Since all straights contain either a 5 or a 10, they won't be able to make a straight. They lose the bet.
Definitely check out a TV show called The Hustle. It's about a bunch of guys who go to bars and do little con jobs (mostly harmless) to get free drinks. One of my favorites is the glass under the napkin. The tricks range from simple to relatively complex, but they're all pretty much guaranteed ways to get free drinks (or make a little money, if that's your goal). Just be sure you do them with good-natured people, as many of the tricks leave the victims feeling pretty stupid.
