I think lightning rod is worth it, because it has the same spell as mega shock and uses less mp then mega shock and also it increases your magic attack power, Lightning based attacks more. Last thing it has other attacks like one that can paralyze 25% of the time the attack hits and there's one that uses like 300 mp but it does a lot. It does on average i think 250-400 both hits everytime unless the monster is strong to lightning attacks. So i recommend it.
