Question:

How to make a 46mm hole, 58mm and keep it perfectly round in 1/4 aluminum?

Anyone know of a tool I can use that will open a 46mm hole to 58mm and keep it perfectly round? Im porting an automotive intake, The intake is 1/4quot; thick aluminumI need to make the 46mm openings, 58mm wide and still keep it perfectly round Ive tried carbite burr's but they are to hard to keep stedy, and the hole is no where near round I used a 2-1/4quot; sanding drum with 36 gritt, and it worked perfect for one sideBut now I cant find any replacement drums for itIt is an odd size and I have no idea where I got it And although it worked, it was very slowI thought about useing a hole saw, But since im not making a new hole I have nothing to center a hole saw toNo way to hold it stedy.Im hoping someone knows of a reamer or someother kind of tool that will inlarge a hole in thick aluminum.thanks

What about a good chicken salad with some chopped celery, diced onion (if you like it), mayo or ranch dressing, spices and some chopped almonds? Chilled really well and serve it up on some good English wafer crackersThrow in some fresh cut cold veggies like broccoli, baby carrots, cauliflower and celery along with the left over ranch dressing and there ya go!
These ports need to be held to a close tolerance ( +- .010) maxYou need to take it to a machine shopyou will not be able to do this with a hand drill or other similar toolsYou may be able to do this on a good drill press with the piece clamped down and use an adjustable boring barthe problem with this is u need to find exact center of the original hole then start by taking just a couple of thousands of material at a time until u get the hole back to being round then take more stockAs a machinist who specializes in automotive machine building I would say you need to take it and have it doneIt won't cost you much and you won't trash your intake$50 to $75 vs a couple hundred or more to replace.
