ao smith motor specs are....1/2 HP, SER 2J97, 6# 316P760, Type FH, SF 1.25, PH 1, SFA 8.0, RPM 1725, 115V, Time Cont., wing diagram reads....Connections: RED-------4 L1--------Line Black-----2 L2----GroundedLinefor clowize rotation interchange red and black, Type A GF2054the wires coming from the motor are not connected to the leads attached to the top of the motor marked L1 and L2 and anything else. they just come out of the motor. there is a switch 2 position, that has like 6 wires coming from it to the motor....if i have to i'll just put a new switch there a regular toggle switch. anyways i dont know where to hook up my neut. hot from the power chord either the ground is common sense....theres a lead coming from the block of the motor. if anyone can help that would be great.....or at least give me a website to find out what the wires are coming from the motor itself.

Look here at that link and look under International Refrigeration Products SPDT 24 volt Coil Fan Relay Part #90-370 If that is the switch your talking about that should help you out.
There should only be 2 wires coming from the motor itself. Which way they get wired will determine the direction of rotation. The reason the switch has so many wires is because it was probably used to reverse direction. If you do get a switch, look for one that is horsepower rated, not an ordinary switch. Motors are inductive loads and when switching them off, there is an inductive kick that will cause an arc, possibly welding the contacts, and you might have to cut some wires to stop the motor in an emergency situation.
Just tell us how many wires are coming out of the motor, and what colors and we can help you. There are 2 looped wires that are for changing rotation, dont include those.
