Question:

Are keyboard keys removable?

I want to clean my keyboard keys and I just wanted to know if I can remove them and place them back without any type of special hardware. It's a standard HP keyboard.

Answer:

Just turn out the screws form the key board. Be careful not the keys jump of. there will be many rubber notches below each and every key.Be sure that no keys are to be missed.just brush with soft brushes and then again arrange the rubber notches and then place the key pad over that and make it screw again.
They do pop up, but you know, I wouldn't do that if I were you My roommate had an HP laptop and one of her keys came/popped off and there was no way of getting that bad boy back on. and when we thought it was back on, it would just come off again.
it depends how you take them off. at the bottom of keys there is a rubber sort of spring and once that is off it's pretty bad. but if you take them off carefully one by one so only the visible part is off you should be able to snap them back on. but remember you may accidentaly take the hole key off so after that you might need a professional to fix it.
if its a laptop i wouldnt recomened it but if its a normal keyboard just get a house key or something similar wedge it between and lever them off the they push back in
It is possible to break them that way. the best way to clean a keyboard is to wash it with a waterhose or in a dishwasher with no dishes in, then place it in a hot car for about a week until it dries. Disclaimer: Don't blame me if you wreck your keyboard like that. Of course, you cannot wash a laptop.
