Question:

Are there additives to foods that make you want more?

Idk if this a crazy thought. But do some food companies add chemicals that work on ur brain to make you want more? For instance, potatoe chips, one company says on the package you cant eat more than one or something like that. So can they add something to make you want more of them?

Answer:

cheese has a natural ingrident that makes you crave more
Salt, MSG, or sugar. Our bodies naturally crave salt and sugar, and MSG is a savory additive that our tongues can pick up. It is what helps make chinese food so addictive. But its nothing out of the ordinary. Just stuff that anyone can get. What makes foods addictive is the taste, and the natural cravings that our bodies have for certain chemicals like salt and sugar. And, just for the person who answered before, people still love McDonald's fries. I bet people could announce they used dead babies in their fries, and people would still eat them, haha.
No. I don't think they do. It would be illegal. And since companies have to list all their ingredients, imagine the issues this would have if they were ever found out. That said, McDonalds use to soak their potatoes in sugar before deep fat frying them, which is why everyone loved their friesuntil consumers found out about it!! EDIT - My point about the McDonald's fries was NOT that everyone doesn't still love them. The point was, when consumers found out about it, McDonald's quit doing it because consumers thought it was 'unhealthy'.cuz other than that added sugar, McDonald's fries are so healthy, as we all know. PS - Salt and sugar are NOT additives.
