The problem is that a house that's burnt should not be standing but a few months, that is until the fire martial determines how the fire started and the insurance company has paid out or it has gone to court for determination and such. Here land is taxed if it has a house on it and no one lives there so the house is torn down within a year by law. Usually when a sign is posted on a door then the small print would say it's illegal to enter and that's why it's posted.
It is more expensive to replace the door but if you get it done yourself, it will be cheaper than waiting for the landlord to charge you. I would guess $300 so you'd better get it fixed. If your deposit is not enough to cover it, landlord will bill you or sue you.
