So I here that plastic water bottles are bad for the environment because plastic isn't biodegradable. So then, wouldn't plastic cups be as bad as bottles?

That would be a yes. Use paper cups... or dont be lazy and use ceramic cup and wash them.
i imagine a plastic bottle could be worse because you frequently cap it and seal the fluid in it and if that were given thrown at the same time as its capped and kinda finished, it may harm as quickly because it hit you! the position as a plastic cup, you are able to type of figure that as its being thrown all the fluid could in basic terms spill out earlier hitting you. and positively you received't have huge discomfort from the hit lol.
plastic cups are entirely safe to drink out of, there are a few warnings and considerations to keep in mind when using them. Plastic cups are the cheapest cups you can find, and they are better for the environment than Styrofoam, but plastic still is not the best choice of material when it comes to personal drinking containers.
