Question:

back boiler for ground floor flat?

Hi,I'm trying to work out a way I can use a back boiler to heat a front room and a bedroom in a 1 bedroom ground floor flat. I'm not sure this will be possible as all the diagrams seem to show water being used vertically and not horizontally in this type of setup. The current heating system is through a combi boiler, which does not heat the bedroom adequately in the winter. This is the reason I Thought a back boiler would be a good idea to heat both rooms and save money on gas bills. What's the best way to achieve this and does anyone have any design examples. Thanks,

Answer:

The back boiler will heat up the water , you then need a pump to pump the heated water around the radiators , that can be feed in to any configuration around your house. The verticals are irrelevent , but can be used as hot water will rise and cause a flow as the temperature difference in the water will cause a density difference , helping to move the water but i would recommend a water pump.
