Question:

Battery Packs or rechargable batteries for the wii remote?

Do the nyco battery packs and charging dock or regular rechargable batteries work better for the Wii remote?

Answer:

PS. If its not wired, it has to get power somewhere. Ok, so a dock and rechargables would have been a good idea. I wouldn't worry about leakage. Its rare but it can happen. Usually they would leak where they are being charged. And since you have to take them out of the controller to charge them, I don't think you'll have that problem.
yes, they last longer, but it only like replacing batteries 3 to 4 times, eventually the rechargable battery runs out
I use the ones for digital cameras (rechargeable). They are more expensive at first but last longer between charges.
Any good rechargable AAs (like the 2500mAh Energizers I have) will last just as long as the Nyko Wiimote packs. But the AAs have several advantages: 1) About the same price for a charger and 4 AAs as for a Nyko charger and 2 packs. But Spare AAs are cheaper and easier to get. 2) AAs and chargers for them can be used for other devices. 3) AAs can be charged outside the Wiimote, meaning when they run low, you just swap them out. 4) You can buy a 15-minute charger for the AAs. No so for the Wiimote battery packs. 5) Major battery manufacturers are less likely to go bankrupt or stop supporting their solution for the Wiimote.
nyco battery packs last about 3 to 4 hours without charging but you could just switch out remotes when the battery pack is low on one remote then you could just use a differrent remote while the the other charges and rechargeable batteries last 10 hours until they need to charge
