Besides trespassing what can happen if you accidentally set off someones car alarm?Say if a car was in someones yard and you got to close and accidentally touched a car and the car alarm went off.What can happen?Besides trespassing.This happened to myself and a friend and we took off and ran.It was honestly an accident.My friend fell forward and the hit the car.The alarm went off.So we ran.I forgot to add we knew the people but got scared.
Nothing. If it was a accident nothing will happen unless the owner wants to be a turd and press charges. However in court the judge more then likely will throw it out because it was an accident
Setting off a car alarm is not a crime. If you set it off while in the act of stealing it or breaking into it, the charges are obvious. However, in the scenario you described, the worst that could ever happen was that the owner tells you not to touch his car again, and if you did THEN you could be charged with trespassing. Just by setting the alarm off, there is no crime committed.
