water pump has small leak
If its an automotive water pump, you need to have it replaced. Because of pump pressures and constant expanding/contracting there is no reliable way to seal the leak. Plus the leak will only get worse. Radiator additives basically clog leaks from the inside, like a bloodclot on a body. But the leak never actually heals and instead the stuff clogs other parts like the inside of the radiator or heater core.
There is no such thing in the automotive world.
Remove the pump and remove the harden rubber gasket all around it and put a permanently elastic sealing compound/sealing compound then reinstall the pump, good luck!
Realistcally you have a 10 12 months previous motor vehicle, so your water pump has used up its existence sorry. provide up leak products are in lots of situations an outstanding powdered aluminum/epoxy combination and NO they gained't fix a water pump seal. previous provide up leak products have been easily extra suitable yet used asbestos as a leak fix, so the government banned its use. My advice, is to save around slightly for yet another value, because it does sound incredibly steep. Sorry approximately your concern. Please remember anti freeze can bypass on the instant, so do no longer threat an engine overheat at a foul time, carry 2 gallons of spare coolant
Is it leaking from the center where the fan shaft comes thru? If so its toast and will have to be replaced. There is a seal there that goes bad sometimes and its too big to clog up. From a hose fitting, replace the hose clamp or the fitting if it comes off. From a crack? You can try Bars Leak or some other radiator sealer from an auto parts store. Buy some, wait for your car to cool down. Open a radiator cap if you got one and pour in. If you don't have one then take off a hose. There will be all kinds of metal shavings, sand and BBs in the bottom of the jar. That is the good stuff, make sure you get it inside. Then drive your car for at least 30 min. A cross country trip would be better. That goo is forced to the leak as water gets out. It is bigger/thicker than water and makes a bandage on the inside, hardening when it gets cool again. They also have it for oil leaks, get the right one. .
