If u have a slow cooker put it in that and fill it with water so it is half way of the joint of beef put it on low at 9 in morning then 2 hours before serving put on high and the juices that are in the water will be good as gravy just scrap the fat off first and add oxo cubes but I would say the best way is to do what you have heard
