Are there black light light bulbs for aquarium hoods? If so, can you find them at the pet shop?
I'm not sure if they're really black lights, but yes they do make lights for night time. They will give your tank kind of a cool moonlight effect. You can buy them at pet stores, but in some cases they will have to special order them because not all pet shops keep them in stock. I have a light that switches between regular lighting and the moonlight setting. They are great to have and it makes the tank look really good, especially if you have different colors through out the aquarium.
you can switch out the T8 fluorescents with blacklight fluorescents on your standard aquarium hood lights. But a better choice is above stated buy the blue LED moonlights they look awesome and have a nice effect and you can observe nocturnal fish at night.
