Answer:

Chances are that you have a bad blower motor switch. The two best fixes are to take it to your mechanic and have it replaced, or if that is too expensive, go to your local auto parts and get a two or three position toggle switch and bypass your original blower switch. This what I did and so far is still working fine for me. Good Luck!
If its a chevy, try putting the blower on high with the switch if it works change switch, the low and med always go out first. if not unplug the blower motor (passenger side in firewall) has 3 bolts take them out and slide it out, go to parts store, get a rebuilt one with lifetime warrenty (about 35 bucks) take the squirrell cage fan off the old one put it on new one (just a clip) and a little rubber elbow on the side, put them side to side on the counter, make sure they are the same, and all the parts are on the new one and stick it back in.
Must not be a blown fuse in the elec. supply to the blower if it works all day for some times and not at all another. Has to be a loose connection in the circut between your ignition/start key switch and the blower elec. motor. Probably will take a trained mechanic to trace down the trouble -- hopefully quickly.
Try switching your wall thermostat fan switch to the on position. That is suppose to make your fan run 24/7. If it starts then your stat is not always making the connection in the auto position, and you need a new stat. If it still won't work, remove the cover of your furnace and trying spinning the motor by hand(w/ switch back in on). If it starts then you either have a dead spot in your motor windings, or a bad motor start capactior. If the motor is old your better off just replacing both. Unfortunately you can't go and get a motor just anywhere, but you can get a stat at a hardware store. If you need a motor check on the furnace manufacure's website for a parts dealer in your area.
check your connection on fan see if its getting power you can get a motor at any autoparts store
