Answer:

flow with the APS blow off valve. As for the fool who reported call would not count, allow him flow purchase a $20 BOV and performance i the diaphragm start up leaking at idle and reason a lot of driving themes.
I WORK FOR SUBARU AND I HAVENT HEARD OF ANY BLOWOFF VALVE VOIDING THE WARRANTY BUT WITH THAT CAR YOU DONT NEED ONE. THE ONE THERE RECIRCULATES THE BOOST FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE SO IN OTHER WORDS DONT TOUCH IT. OR IS 293 HP NOT ENOUGH?
A blowoff valve releases turbo pressure when shifting or when you're off the throttle. A BOV is basicly a vacuum tube connected to the intake manifold and two bolts(sometimes there will be a pipe to route the released intake pressure to prevent the engine from stalling), and shouldn't be too hard to change out in under 20 minutes or so, because it will void your warranty.
Hey Dude, The other answers covered what a blow off valve dose very well... It simply releases boost pressure when you let off the gas. If you buy an atmospheric blow off valve you will cost power. All it will do is make a cool sound. The reason is that the computer expects the boost charge to be recirculated, not vented. The car comes stock with a great and fully functional recirculating blow off valve. Keep it, your money is better spent else where.
First I wouldn't purchase the Greddy, I had the former Type-S and it tended to leak on my 02 WRX. I would look at getting something like the HKS SSQV it is one of the most efficient valves out there, and if you don't like the chirp it makes you can purchase an insert that is a woosh of air. As far as what a Blow Off Valve does... When you throttle plate closes after boosting, your charge pipe(between the turbo outlet and the throttle) has leftover boost pressure. This pressure will push back on the turbo and possibly harm it. Factory this pressure is re-routed to the intake, an aftermarket BOV vents this into the atmosphere, making the desired noise. Yous can get valves that do 1/2 vent and 1/2 re-circulate. With a cheaper valve like the Greddy the vent into the atmosphere is going to cause the car to stumble between shifts, this is because the valve is inefficient and causes the vehicle to run rich. As far as Warranty goes, it is illegal for a car manufacturer to void a warranty do to usage of parts other than theirs. BUT if you need warranty work and they can without a doubt prove that the Blow Of Valve caused the damage they will make you pay for that damage. Tial is awesome, but fitment on TMIC would be an issue.
