What does it mean if I have to press the restart but upon waking up and every few hours to get hot water and heat to work? This is getting annoying. Boiler guy been to the house 3x already to look at the boiler too over the last 2-3 months. Thanks
if it's a oil fired boiler the reset is for the burner only has nothing to do with it leaking unless it is leaking directly in to the firebox(where the flame is) you could have a bad nozzle,plugged filter. bad fuel or water in the fuel most are a simple repair by a pro make sure they do a combustion test to properly set firing of the burner. hope this helps. get a good pro to do the work get references
you could examine to make advantageous there is not any air interior the device. in case you have baseboard registers you could clean them with a vacuum. in lots of situations, interior the older properties the boiler is outsized so it may desire to be able to maintain up. for extra info, inspect the boiler web page at my source.
Sounds like the manifold is vacuum stopping. There's an air leak somewhere in the main system, this should be more then looked at.
I had a similar problem. It turned out to be a rusted flue pipe. Large chunks of flue, had blocked the exhaust. Heat failed when temps were below freezing. It froze the pipes of a Dairy Queen, two winters before I figured it out. It worked fine while the store was open ( warmer temps ). If you have a modern home, the screens may be for excess air, needed for safe combustion. Older homes, before the use of fire-stop and tyvec, have enough natural air leeks for excess air. In an older home, the screens airflow, could cause the boiler pilot light to go out.
sounds as though the boiler is past its sell by date. constriction is reduced water flow through boiler. scale causes this and over heating ot hot spots form this can causes the boiler to leak. if its leaking the only real repair is replacement. Mine was leaking had same issues. in the end I had 2 bite bullet and have new fitted at great expense.
