Question:

boiler query - Water isn't getting hot, getting warm though. Pressure low, is this the problem?

Just wondering before we bother our landlord with the query, if it is something we can fix?The water is kind of warm, but temp drops suddenly, we have a hunch that this is because the pressure on the boiler is showing below 1. Any ideas on how to sort this one out?

Answer:

There should be a valve which supplies water to the boiler. Look underneath the boiler, it will be connecting two pipes, probably flexible braided pipe with the valve. Open the valve and watch the pressure increase. Close it when it gets just above 1 bar. Be careful as after a short while the pressure will jump up quickly, and you don't want too much water (too much pressure) in. Try that and if it doesn't work you'll have to get your landlord to get a gasman in.
