can i ask what the application is? anything dealing with vbration and/or high pressure/loads wont stay together for long without welding there are wonder rods avaible for repair or joining alum to alumi've tried the dura fix brand rods, about $40 per pound of them, all you need is apropane torch cheaply purchased at any hardware storelight pipe joining should be in their capabilities, they claim it to be tougher then aluminum once properly done, i tested it myself by beating it with a hammer, bent the thick aluminum without distrubing the weld, definetly harder for filing or grinding them aluminum isbut i found them to suck for my high vibration, and pressure/load applicationTIG is by far the best option for joining two pieces of aluminum together.
