Question:

Burned cookies?

I baked Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies in my oven and within 4 minutes the bottoms of the cookies were burnt to a crispSmoke even started coming out of my oven. But the tops of the cookies were cooking normallyWhy would the bottoms of cookies burn so fast? I put the cookies on a cookie sheet covered by aluminum foil.

Answer:

Alot of your question depends on the hp and torque rating of your motorYou might consider moving from a 3-blade prop to a 4-blade or a slight increase in the prop diameter or pitchA dealer would be the best place to take a look at your setup and give you the pros and cons of the different optionsBlade pitch is how much the blades are tiltedTypically, more pitch should increase top end speedHowever the increase in pitch makes your engine work harder to get the prop to spin since it also increases drag forces on the bladesAlso high pitches can create cavitation which can lead to prop failure and engine/drivetrain damageAluminum - lighter and spins up faster, but more prone to damage Stainless Steel - more durable, but heavier
Well, since aluminum is about the best conductor of heat out there, I'd say it was the foilBake the cookies right on the sheetYou also may want to move the rack in your oven up a notch or two so the heat isn't so intense on the bottom of the cookie sheet.
