Question:

Can anyone else sense when a t.v is on, or other electrical equipment?

Ever since I was a little kid I could tell when there is a T.V on in a house when I walk by. I get this feeling inside like I can sense the signal or something with my brain. When I walk closer to the T.V the feeling gets stronger. If there is a T.V left on in my house with no sound or picture playing, I am still able to sense that the T.V was left on, and pinpoint the exact room its in without even going inside. Does this happen to anyone else?

Answer:

Yep, I can too. CRT tvs have a flyback transformer that operates around 15kHz - near the top end of human hearing. Other electronic devices using switchmode power supplies may also generate similar frequencies. I can also sense wifi hotspots - my eyes get tired and itchy like a summer day without sunglasses - the RF tends to dry them out.
I can, too. I just don't know why (I assume it's radio waves). I was in class once (science) during high school and the television behind me was completely black and not making noise, but I could feel it was on. My teacher thought she turned it off with the remote after the morning broadcast, but I could still feel it was on. So when she came over near my side of the room I told her it was still on, so she pushed the off button on the side and it turned off. She asked me how I knew that- if I saw it or heard it. I tried to explain I could FEEL it was on and she looked at me as if I was crazy. So I've always been confused why can some people feel it and some can't? I can feel security tvs at Walmart as well, and pin point their location from the feeling. Anyway, after I tried to explain that to a couple people (friends, family) and everyone gave me weird looks I just decided to keep it to myself.
If this is a yes or no question the answer is no. As a matter of fact I think you may be pulling our leg a little dab. Even if you can tell if the TV is on I`ll bet you can not tell what channel it`s on without looking or listening. Now how`s that grab you smarty pants? PS I`ll bet you can`t even walk on water.
yes. it really depends on your age and hearing but the tv transmits a signal with a very very high pitched squeak when turned on which can be heard by young humans with very good hearing. I always know when the tv is on even when the screen is all black and i go to turn it off and my parents look at me like im psychic. its funny.
Older TV's especially color TV's use a very high voltage, which can make the hair on your arm stand up. It is not too hard to imagine that you are sensitive to this voltage field. Modern LCD TV's do not use high voltage, so you might want to test your senses on a newer LCD TV.
