I have four cats 2 girls and 2 boys. we got our female cats fixed and now one of the males keeps trying to reproduce with the other male. is this normal?
They are deciding who is dominant of the cats.. it is perfectly normal.. They arn't gay, they are just finding out who should be leader of the four cats.
I don't know if they can be gay or not. My cat used to hump a girl kitten we got alot and then go hump the boy cat too. Cats use it as a form of dominance over the others creatures. My cat did it to them all and he was the dominant animal. Animals don't think of sex in the same way humans do.
Cats cannot be gay, nor can dogs (I dont even think apes can). Their minds dont work that way. In the animal kingdom, there is a female, and a male. There are no homos or bi`s. Their brains arent that complex. Your male was deciding who the top cat will be. Not quite like a pack leader like dogs have, but more like the cat that everybody looks up to. Being gay is a human-created thing, animals are SO much different than humans. They dont think the same as you, and they certainly cant be gay!!
Have you heard the story of Silo and Ray, the gay penguins. As far as your cats, I tend think it is a dominance thing. Read the story about Silo and Ray in the link I have provided below. It is very interesting.
Male cats (and other animals) will do that to other males to show their dominance. It has nothing to do with sex.
