Question:

Can compass points its direction to magnetic material?

Since a compass is a permanent magnet, can it actually points its direction to ,for example, an unmagnetized iron (magnetic material)or attracted?

Answer:

The magnet on a compass is weak and will probably not be attracted to any metal unless it is very close to the object.
