Question:

can crusher?

I have to make a can crusher that can crush a can into several centimeters. I have ideas such as using a crane and a cinderblock or maybe even a seesaw, also a spring. However, this can is placed in the middle of a 15 ft circle, so we can't get near to the can. Does anyone have any suggestions for an efficient and relatively not so hard technique? thanks

Answer:

how bout droppin a gigantic brick 15 ft in diameter from a crane?!!
Make a hydraulic press. Extend the electricity wires and switch to outside the circle and press the button. It'll crush it flat. Or if you don't have the materials or money to make one, you can always use a vice or clamp. Those things have massive crushing power. Just extend the handle somehow so that it reaches outside the circle. Then grab the handle and walk around the perimeter of the circle. The clamp will slowly close and crush the can. Even simpler, take a 16 foot long beam (wood, steel, anything that won't break). Lay the beam on top of the can. Each end of the beam should be sticking out past the edges of the circle. Have a person sit or push down on each end of the beam. The can will magically disappear! Hope this helps. :-)
