Question:

Can fire extinguisher dust harm cats?

I had to use my extinguisher in a small apartment over the weekend, everything covered with dust. I kept my cat out of it for the most part but i know he still got some on him. I know he is ingesting a little when he cleaned himself, can it cause problems for him?

Answer:

Oh, you might be able to grab it with lightning rods, but what the heck would you want to do with it? All you can do now is shunt it to ground. There's no practical way to store it for future use. I'm not sure why you're interested in volcanic lightning. There's nothing special about it, really. Wind speed won't increase because of ash, either.
Why is your fire alarm going off? Just take the battery out if there's no fire. Then when the smoke is gone, put the battery back in. If it's going off and there's no smoke then you might have a faulty smoke detector and you need to get a new one.
