Question:

Can i add speakers to my car?

I have a 2001 Chevy Cavalier coupe with 4 speakers and they are kind of weak. I have been offered box speakers for my car. I have the manufactured stereo still and i hear that i cant connect the speakers with that. Is it possible to just go through the other speakers wiring?

Answer:

You can replace the factory speakers with after-market upgrades, but you can't add additional speakers unless you also install an amplifier to drive them.
I don't know what you are referring to when you say box speakers. Sounds like you're talking about subwoofers. If so, you'll need an amp. If they are boxed 6x9s or something, you can just hook them up with the original wiring, if the impedance is corrct, but why would you want to? Just replace all the door speakers with aftermarket ones. The only way you'll get more power, regardless of what speakers, though, is with an amplifier. That is where power comes from, not the speakers themselves.
