I have an old lawn tractor i want to get back up and running. I was wondering if i could start it with a homemade battery pack (made out of 8 AA batteries). PLEASE HELP ME!
Absolutely not. AA's can supply perhaps 2 amps best case for a very limited time. The starter motor in your tractor needs a hundred amps at least! And it will need this repeatedly, as an old motor that's been sitting awhile is going to need a lot of attempts to start it.
Be very careful of doing this. Batteries can explode and if you are new at this, don't do it.
