I need to know ASAP. I have frozen corporate pizza in plastic containers, and I don't have any microwaveable plates. I'm in my college dorm, and need to know ASAP.
no most plastic will melt or at the very least will contaminate the food if touching it. Just place on a sheet of paper or directly on the microwave glass plate. Your regular dishes will likely be okay in microwave for heating unless they have metal trim
Do not heat stff up in plastic what so ever it is really bad for you but it is fine when freezing it it is just when the plastic gets heated..
Plastic plates in microwave oven grow tentacle
Depends upon the plastic. Are the plastic dishes Microwavable or not? You can also microwave in the plastic, slowly 30 seconds wait a minute, 30 more etc.
I've done some research, and it isn't a good idea to use plastic in a microwave....ANY kind of plastic. The chemicals in the plastic may leach in to the food. Just put it on a plate and nuke it. Don't even take any chances. There are carcinogens in many plastic products, and the risk outweighs the convenience. There are claims that some plastics are safer than others....I just don't do it any more. It's not worth it.
