Can I recycle any plastic even if it doesn't have the Recycling symbol on it?
I would love to be able to recycle everything that I can in my home. Reality = Sorry! Each community and or recycling company in the States have their own rules. Right now, only 1 and 2 plastics are commonly accepted . . . that is IF you are lucky to be in a community that recycles! I was in one community that only took milk and pop bottles, and I had to sit there with a utility knife to scrape or cut the labels off!!! Or, they would CANCEL my contract.
Most community's that have recycling centers can only take type 1 and 2. When other plastics (not 1 or 2) are put into a load the center has to resort the entire batch to try and remove the other plastics and when they can't be removed they have to scratch the entire batch and none if it is recycled. That means it's trash. So it is actually important to sort your plastics and only send the correct types.
I'd be doubtful about trying to recycle plastic that doesn't have the recycling symbol. Even when plastics do have the recycling symbol that doesn't automatically mean that recycling facilities are available in a particular area. Where I live our local council operates a kerbside recycling collection but in the plastics only takes 1 and 2. It's determined by the availability of processing facilities and available markets
Depends on your local recycling center. In Pembroke, we can only recycle 1 and 2. All others go in trash.
once you recycle plastic be useful which you separate the plastic out, the little image on the bottle, jug, and so on. that tells you what kind of plastic this is, to recycle top you ought to mixture the numbers, maximum bottles are #a million so once you recycle merely positioned #a million interior the bag, in case you upload a #2 you jeopardize the integrity of the plastic while this is melted down, even however recycling centers have sorters to kind distinctive numbers they do no longer constantly seize the blended up plastic.
