I jut got one today, and was wondering how the hell I'm supposed to use shampoo and soap without letting it touch my piercing???

the piercer obviously didn't give you very good cleaning instructions. if you get shampoo on your ear, don't stress. just clean your ear with soap AFTER shampooing. do not use any harsh cleaners on your piercing no alcohol, or neosporin, or even bactine they will dry out and irritate your skin even more the only things your piercing will ever need is a) dial soap (or any odorless, anti bacterial soap- like softsoap) and b) sea salt diluted in warm water (preferably NOT rock / table salt) soak your piercing in sea salt in warm water a few times a day. it will draw out the bacteria, fight infection and speed the healing process naturally and use the dial soap when you take your showers remember swelling and redness is normal depending on the piercing / body part, it can take up to a few months to completely heal pussing and oozing the first few weeks is a normal healthy sign that your body is healing i understand the industrial piercing is in an annoying spot, because you're always bumping things with your head. but as long as you keep your piercing clean, and irritation free, you should be fine avoid picking at it, and dont touch it with dirty hands
