What I envision doing is to tape a heat source (small device utilizing nichrome or tungsten filament, emitting 5-15 um IR) on the outside of a PIR motion detector lens. When I want to manually trigger (emulate human motion) I would energize the heat source and hopefully be detected.I have done some preliminary tests and found this not to work. Does the target really have to *move* across two zones of the lens? I thought that by suddenly introducing heat to one zone, it would cause the imbalance / difference necessary to trigger the alarm? Thanks for any help.
Smoke alarms will not be set off by vaporizers for a few reasons, namely they don't really produce smoke. You've apparently been hitting that vaporizer pretty hard already today if you couldn't figure that out yourself.
It keeps beeping even when disconnected because theres a back-up battery (its small) inside the casing. To get it to stop beeping you can either take out the back-up battery or replace the main battery and press and hold the reset button.
Very nice. I agree with all of it. Alot of people have become paranoid, schizophrenic, hypochondriacs. And parents are way too over-protective. I am a parent myself, and alot of parents refuse to punish their children because their kids might end up in therapy. Kids are becoming overweight due to computers and video games, because hardly any of them go outside anymore. When we did go outside, we always had change with us to make a phone call. We didn't need cell phones. All I see kids have now are cell phones. Parents spoil their kids way too much. You also made a good point about pregnant mothers. They say if you smoke while pregnant, your child will die, or end up with all kinds of defects. My kids and my nieces and nephews are perfects examples that this is all a bunch of crap. My sister and I both smoked while pregnant, and our kids our perfectly healthy, with no defects of any kinds. Like I said, paranoid, schizophrenic, hypochondriacs.
