Question:

Can I use a 19.2v (Craftsman) battery pack in my 18.0v (Craftsman) cordless drill?

These battery packs are the same physical Size.- They both use the same charger.- I don't want to damage my drill by using the higher voltage pack.

Answer:

As long as you don't let the drill overheat, you should be OK. You are looking at less than 7% more voltage. You have more leeway in your home voltage and various motors you use there.
It will work but the cordless drill does have a limit on the ampage that it allows to go through it. Just check the amps in the users manual, you should be ok, it is not that big of a jump. I would probably NOT do it from a 14 up to a 19 but I think an 18 to a 19 would be just fine. double check your users manual. good luck.
