Question:

Can I use acrylic paint on a bag instead of fabric paint?

I would like to make a gay marriage/support bag, so I was planning on getting a plain black bag (the cheap cloth beach bag things in the dollar store) and painting a rainbow on it.But I'm out of fabric paint, so could I use acrylic instead? Would it bleed in the washer onto the other clothes?

Answer:

Acrylic might work if you thin the paint a bit and really work it into the fibersYou don't ever want to wash something like that with other garments anyway-if you do machine launder it, turn it inside out and wash it only with old jeans or dark thingsFabric paint really isn't that expensive!
If the insulation is on the floor of the attic, then it's keeping the living space from heating up too fastIf it's on the ceiling of the attic then it's slowing down the heat from the sun beating on the roofEither way, it's not uncommon for attics to get over 90 deg or moreA ventilation fan in the attic can draw cooler outside air through a vent if you feel it's a problem.
