don't do that , it will effect the cooking use wax paper or just oil and flour your pan
NOunless it's an Angel Food cake you can just spray the pan with PAM or any food spray and then dust it with flour.

No don't use foilIf you don't have wax or parchment paper then just use shorteing and a light dusting of flourThe foil will stick to the cake and leave tiny bits of metal in the cake.
I'm pretty sure it is safe to eat food from aluminum foilIf it wasn't safe why would some places place hot dog inside aluminum foil.
