Question:

Can I use super glue on my brackets?

Alright, this is crazy. I went to china and I find no ortho insite. I have super glue but I am not sure if I should use it. Its like my 4th day my bracket came off, I'll describe it a bit more. My bracket is out of place, i can shift it up or down, right or left. My orthodontist is in america and I have to stay here for around 1-2 more months. I really don't know what to do, but does super glue work? I think it just sticks on your teeth and you can remove it when ever. The bracket is located on my big teeth, the 3rd far back one. What should i do? I know theres orthos in china but just what can i do for now?

Answer:

Do not glue it back on yourself. The placement of the bracket on the tooth is very precise when the orthodontist puts it on and that is part of what helps dictate where your tooth moves. If it doesn't hurt I would just try to leave it alone until you can get in with an orthodontist that can fix it tempoarily until you can get home. SInce the bracket is still connected to the wire it wont come off so just try to chew on the other side. YOu are better off not doing anything with it for another month than trying to glue it on yourself.
1st element do no longer super glue something in or outdoors of your physique(poisonous) 2d tell ur mum and dad third run your mouth under warm water(loosing up glue) 4th next time a bracket brakes(had braces) only go away it on my own positioned wax on it and contact ur orthodontist in the morning sorry btw:) desire this facilitates! and reliable success
Super glue is not an option. Applying it may result in damage to your teeth. A dentist in China should however be able to help you. He should either be able to remove the bracket and, if need be, the arch or he can fix it using light curing dental adhesives. Be brave!

Call your ortho or email the office. They might be able to recommend what you can do while abroad, possibly even recommend an emergency dentist there. They might have you take the bracket off yourself or give you some suggestions to keep it in place such as wax or maybe something over the counter to hold it. Your ortho might just have you remove the bracket, depending on how it is attached to the wire. BOTTOM LINE: You just need to find a way to contact the ortho doing your work. Email home and have mom or dad or someone call them for you if you don't have international phone access. Get online and email their office and explain the situation -- do something, but get in touch with that office. They would be the safest people to get advice from regarding the situation.
