Question:

can i weld these things together?

can i weld aluminum metal tubes together with an ARC welder, if not then how about galvanized steel tubes???

Answer:

With the right rod, you canArc welders have alot of power and will burn through the material easily if it is thinI am not familiar on how to actually weld them together (settings, etc.) but it is possibleAre the tubes structural? If not, there is a product called alum-alloy that allows the fusing of aluminum with a propane torch As for the galvanized tubes, you should have no problem welding them togetherAgain, burn through might be an issueMake sure you are in a well ventilated area with the galvanized tube, as when the zinc burns off from welding, it is toxicNot something you want to breathe, believe me!!;)
I usually don't soak my corn, I just peel the husk off or tie it back to make a hanldle, remove the silk place it directly on the grill and brush with either a compound or straight butter, turn 1/4 turn, continue to turn brush until I get the diesired duness I want, brush final time just before service.
simply cook over coals or on a gas grill turning occasionally until the husks become slightly charredDepending on your grill this could take as little as 10 minutes or as much as 20 minutesIt takes a little experimenting to determine how long you like your corn cookedOnce grilled the ears will stay hot for some time or can be put in a slow over or covered container to keep warm until servingHave a tub of melted butter to brush on and enjoy!
Great! I just tried this for the first time on SundayI used the method I saw Bobby Flaw usePeel off the first few layers of corn husk and leave on a few to keep the corn cob coveredThe pull off the silk and rewrap in the remaining huskThen soak in ice water for 30 to 40 minutesYou may have to set something like a brick on top the corn to keep it submergedThen heat up your grill on mediumCook the corn on med 15 to 20 minutes, checking and turning every 5 minutesThe grill marks look good on the corn and I thought it tasted better than the old boiled kindGood luck and happy Fourth Of July! no matter what method you use be careful about adding butter to corn on the grillmy mom singed her eyebrows off that way.
