Truth is, all they need to do is do the best at parenting. Parenting is the key to growing up and being good person, and by have children, they have a responsibility to do that. If they can afford college and it shouldn't be a major problem, then yes that should be a priority. A car at 16 is nice, but a parent absolutely does not owe that to their children.
