I have a strat I have done my best to make like jimi's tooPersonally, for the money, just go with a mexican strat (they didn't make american strats when Jimi played)After you buy it you can change it to be even more like hisDo this first by adding 2 springs to the whammy bar (behind the white plate on the back)Then, take off your strings and pick-guard and turn all of the pickups aroundSince Jimi played with strings the opposite direction the pickups were made for (the famous right handed guitar strung for left handed playing) this will give you the same difference in soundA lot of his sound came from his giant stacks of Marshall tube amps though.
