Question:

Can someone know why my vacuum cleaner won't suction?

The motor turns ok, and my husband couldn't find where the hose was clogged.. we just can't get any suction. It is a Dirt Devil. Upright. Approx 7-8 yrs old.

Answer:

If the bag is full they will not suck dirt try enptying the bag
Vacuum cleaners are simple machines. They only NOT work because the intake line is clogged, the bag is full, the motor doesn't work, or the exhaust vent is clogged. If you can start unhooking hoses and vents, find out what works, then re-attach hoses and vents until something doesn't work. If the motor spins and the bag is replaced, I'll bet you've got a clog in the intake hose. Disconnect it from the rest of the cleaner and jam a garden hose down the length of it. You may dislodge a wad of yuck or a golf ball or sock or something.
