Question:

Can someone please list the colors and additives of the order of draw for phlebotomy?

Can someone please list the colors and additives of the order of draw for phlebotomy?

Answer:

It is most likely a ford taurus tranmission because frst of all ford is cheap when they make cars so ya but chck online too on google or some thing
first check on the driver's side door. there should be a label on it that may say which one it is. if not, get under the car and look at the tranny pan. it will probably be stamped right in the metal or there may be a metal tag with the numbers on it. it will probably say something like aode or 4r70w.
It's a 4R70W 4-Speed Automatic . The first responder is in error by saying it's a Taurus tranny. Taurus's don't have transmissions, they have transaxels because they are front wheel drive !
Always collect your tubes in order from least additive to most additive. Therefore, a plain red top would always be first, then blue top (citrate), lavender top (EDTA), green top (heparin), marble or yellow top (clot activator, after anitcoagulated green, lavender and blue), then other tubes as needed. The only exception would be blood culture tubes which should either be collected separately or before all other tubes (preferably separately, but sometimes this is not possible depending upon the patient). The pupose of draw order is to minimize cross-contamination of different tube additives which may affect the test results, therefore draw the least additive tubes first then the most sensitive ones next. As important as the draw order is proper mixing; most issue with bad blood collection is the result of not mixing ALL tubes, since they ALL have additives (yes, even plain red tops have silicone coatings and clot activators in the plastic ones). Mix, mix, mix IMMEDIATELY after filling them COMPLETELY (short draws are the second most common reason for blood draws affecting lab results).
