Question:

Can someone specify what it means to leave an overhang or what is the rim of a square pan?

it came from this directions:Line bottom and sides of an 8-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil, leaving an overhang on all sidesCrimp overhang under rim of pan.I just wanted to make sure on how to foil the pan properly before attempting to bake this cheesecake recipe :) so am is the foil to cover the inside the pan or outside of it?please explain^^ thank you.

Answer:

An overhang is extra foil that you fold under the edge of the pan on the outsideGood luckWhen cheesecake is done, you can uncrimp the foil and with help depending on how careful you are, lift the cheesecake out of the pan after it is cooled, or cut it carefully.
