Can you cover a styrofoam ball in clay and then bake it?

I am doing a project and i am making a doveI just want to cover a styrofoam (plastifoam ball as it is called) in clay to make its bodyIt is the clay you bake to dryPlease i need an answer fast!

I wouldn't do itStyrofoam burns with quite a mess and the smoke is rather toxicIf you have polymer clay you might want to use something like aluminum foilAt least it won't melt.
