Question:

Can you put a chain lock on a metal door?

I dont need it so much for security, just keeping my toddler inside!

Answer:

not if it's a fire exit. just ask all those in RI about the great white concert....
absolutly. just have to use self tapping metal screws found at any harware store or wal-mart/kmart. just have to use a screw gun DO NOT try to do it by hand.
Sure you can. In lieu of using the standard wood screws frequently provided with the chain lock pick up some metal screws, predrill the door and frame and screw the metal screws in with a screw driver, or use a power drill and install some self tapping screws in the door and frame. Either method is rather easy to accomplish. Where ever you are able to locate the chain lock should also have the fasteners that you may select. The source of the screws should be able to give more specific advice regarding screw sizes and proper drill size if you elect to use metal screws.
