Answer:

its fine i eat the peel from lemons and limes and if it was not safe they would not use lemon and lime zest
i think its safe. i also eat the skin of the limes.
Limes are all natural! I believe it's perfectly safe because I have also accidentally ate lime skin/zest and I am perfectly fine! Limes are all natural and due to experience if you don't eat too much of the skin/zest you will be perfectly fine. You ate a little by mistake, what can be the harm? Hope I helped (:
The skin and zest of limes, lemons, oranges, and so on is often an ingredient in recipes, from cakes to Moroccan stews. Grated orange and lemon peel are sold dried in the spice aisle in supermarkets. Chocolate-covered orange peel is delicious. So, yes, it's safe to eat. Just be aware that soaking the limes in water won't kill bacteria. As long as you wash it under running water, just as you would an apple, it's okay. Also, a little goes a long way as far as flavor is concerned, so you can peel the limes first and add just a few pieces of the peel to your limeade.
Limes The fragrance of limes prompts the increase of digestive saliva, which helps to digest the food completely and quickly, preventing fermentation and toxic buildup. Flavonoids that are rich in limes stimulate the digestive system and increase the acids and bile to promote optimal absorption of nutrients from food.Oil extracts from the lime have natural anti-congestive properties that are useful when applied through a balm, vaporizer or inhaler. anyways let me get to the point Lime has also shown success in reducing nausea when a piece of lime, with the skin, is chewed on and swallowed. so yes it is safe!
