Question:

can you weld copper with a mig and copper wire?

i have a espresso machine boiler that has a cracked cap on the heat exchanger tube. can I simply cut that off and weld a plate of comparable thickness to that and have it turn out water tight and able to handle 15 bars of pressure?

Answer:

Needs to be silver soldered . Using a Food Grade Solder (No Lead)Best bet is to have a Jeweler look at it and do the repair.
Do not try it yourself. The pressure in the boiler may be dangerous. Different metal has different pressure bearing capacity. So call any experienced and professional boiler repair engineer form boiler repair company like Jchlondon. They knows which material is used best to repair it.
Not an item that can be repaired. This is a pressure vessel that needs to be tested to a safe level. Copper needs to be formed from one piece without seams to be safe.
