Question:

Candles in Dorm?? Smoke Detector?

I was wondering if candles have the potential to set off a smoke detector/fire alarm/sprinkler system in a small dorm? Obviously they'll be monitored and they'll only be here for one night. Thanks.

Answer:

I've never noticed lightning rods on steeples but I would assume because the steeple is likely the highest point in the surrounding area.. they ground a metal rod to avoid damage from a lightning strike. or the church is receiving money from radio, television, or cell phone companies by converting their cross into a relay antenna. I've seen some churches out here do that.
So you're saying that all lightening strikes today are a participatory act of God? God loves physics, - he invented it. Besides, - I think with the incremental knowledge of humans, - he doesn't exercise that vehicle as a mode of communication.
Well, the law of physics says the highest point will get the strike. I don't think lightening knows one structure from the other. Anyway if those Angels would quit making strikes while they are bowling we wouldn't have any lightening strikes to begin with.
Mom used to use a foot warmer electric blanket it just went across the base of the bed, she also had an electric lower fitted sheet. I used one in California in the early 60's as my bed always felt damp from all of the humidity that I was not used to. Now I have a large heating pad I use if it gets really cold or I have an achy back. In the early 90's I lived in an old cabin high on a mountain, I only had wood heat, I had a sheet, a blanket and a duvet, I wore flannel jammies or a flannel nightie, slept alone and I was just fine.
I asked our pastor about this once. He said something about how Zeus is a jealous god, and he hurls thunderbolts at the infidels.
