Question:

Car Alarms and batteries?

Do car batteries require their own set of batteries or do they rely on the batteries of the car? I bought a new car a few years ago but had an alarm installed separately at the dealership. If you have a car with an alarm that replies on your keypad to enable and disable the alarm, and the car battery dies in the middle of the road, does the alarm go off and start ringing or does it even have anything to do with the alarm? Reason I ask is because a few years ago somebody‘s car turned off and the alarm started going off by itself. I really don‘t know anything about cars so please advise!

Answer:

im not sick and tired :)
yeah, it sucks being sick and tired all of the time.
All the electricity in the car comes from the battery and the alternator charges that when the engine runs. The alarm depends on the car's battery. Many car alarms will be triggered by voltage drop. A weak battery may drop voltage in the middle of the night when it gets very cold, and that triggers the alarm. The alarm doesn't have its own battery.
im not tired and im not sick :)
