Question:

Car alarms?

Ok a couple days ago my car was brutally broken in to. They pulled the window frame about 4-5inches off the top of the car, busted my drivers window, chips in paint from crowbar or whatever they used, I mean a real big deal. They stole nothing so I have the feeling they just wanted to hurt my baby. The stock alarm did NOT GO OFF. It‘s a 2001 Saab 9-3 which is not a cheap car and you‘d expect the alarm to go off with such damage and force being done. So that‘s it I want an aftermarket one so I can go brutally break into their head when somebody tries to do this to my car again. I was thinking the Viper 5002. Opinions please?

Answer:

Sorry that happened. Hope insurance fixes you up. That cheap ($200) alarm constantly going WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP at all hours will infuriate your neighbors and guarantee that people cheer on the vandals, if not become the vandals. Do something else.
i dont think of the alarms deter the jackers. although, a protection equipment that wont enable the vehicle be all started and not making use of a key is a incredibly stable deterent. possibly some day interior the destiny they'll layout an alarm that immediately calls the police if the vehicle is tampered with.
The viper is a good alarm system, but what you need is anything with a motion or shock sensor(shock necessary) The factory alarm has neither, and if they did not open the door at all, then it is normal that the alarm did not go off. So the viper has a shock sensor I believe, and I also believe a motion can be added to it. Sounds like a good plan, remember to shoot with a silencer, don''t wanna get busted proteting her.
