Chemistry Convertion Question?

A package of aluminum foil contains 50ft^2 of foil, which weighs approximately 8.0 ozAluminum has a density of 2.70 g/cm^3What is the approximate thickness of the foil in millimeters? Please, specific, worked out answers onlyI don't just need the answer, I need to UNDERSTAND the answerThanks a lot!

Answer:

Lots of conversions going on here! 1First, convert 50 ft^2 to cm^2(50 ft^2)(12 in/1 ft)(12 in/1 ft)(2.54 cm/1 in)(2.54 cm/1 in) will give you the cm^2 2Convert the 8.0 oz to grams (I don't remember the conversion off-hand) but.(8.0 oz)(x grams/1 oz) to get the number of g3Now take the mass (g) of Al and divide by the density of the Al to find what volume of Al you have4Take the volume of the Al and divide by the area of the sheet of Al and the remaining factor will be the thicknessGood old deminsional analysis.
i would recommend blown in insulation as well as a seperation of the walls, you see the sound is being transferred through the 2x4 and the speaker is the wall boardif you have the room, install another wall not touching but close to the existing wall using 2x3s.and insulate that wall as well.
