Question:

What type of wrapping preserves food best?

Chose from plastic bag, aluminum foil, wax paper, paper towel

Answer:

Normally the wax melts - it is just paraffin - but if it worked - go for it - nothing wrong with the wax it is edible/food safe even if a little does get on the cookies it wouldn't be a problem other than a slight 'wax-lip' chewiness.
It will eventually melt or catch fire.
Wax can catch fire at 390 degreesThat's what's wrong with using wax paper in the oven.
Don't look a gift horse in the mouthIf it works go ahead and use itThe coating on wax paper is non-toxic even if it does get on your cookiesActually, this is good to knowI'm always running out of parchmentI never would have tried it.
